Employer Assistance
New Zealand Employer Assistance - If you are an employer in NZ planning to hire migrants, you must get accredited to show you are a viable business and you meet employment and immigration standards. This will enable you to hire migrants on the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).
Accreditation applications open from 23rd May 2022. There are different types of accreditations depending on the business model, and in some cases the number of migrants a firm wants to hire.
Once you are accredited, you need to apply for a job check for each job you want to hire a migrant worker for. If the job passes the job check the migrant worker can apply for a visa.
Services we offer
The fee for this process varies depending on the type of accreditation you get:
- New Zealand Standard Accreditation, up to 5 migrants at any one time, is NZD $740.
- High-volume, 6 or more migrants at any one time, is NZD $1220.
- Upgrade fee for employers who want to upgrade from standard to high-volume accreditation, is NZD $480.
- Employers wanting to place migrants with controlling third parties, is NZD $3870.
- Franchisees is NZD $1980.
- Reconsideration of a declined employer accreditation application is NZD $240.
The initial employer accreditation is for 12 months and subsequent accreditation renewals will be for 24 months, except for franchise and labour hire type businesses who will continue to require annual renewals.
Once employer accreditation is approved, the next step is to apply for Job Check. The purpose of the job checks is to ensure there are no New Zealanders available for the job. If your job checks is approved after that a migrant worker can apply for an AEWV. An approved job check is valid for 6 months or until you no longer hold accreditation, whichever is earlier. INZ fee for applying for job check is $610.
